Family mediation is a confidential, voluntary, out-of-court dispute resolution method which allows clients to resolve their unique legal challenges with assistance from a trained neutral third-party, a mediator.

Mediation reduces the financial and emotional associated with litigation in court.

Clients will have space and time to formulate realistic and creative solutions to meet their family's needs.

The mediator provides information about family court processes and legal information so clients can make informed decisions on how best to separate.

Collaborative Family Law is designed to help parties resolve their legal problems out-of-court with the help of their attorneys and neutral experts in a non-adversarial matter.  The collaborative process helps reduce the emotional and financial stress caused by litigating your family law matter in Court.  In a collaborative case, you work with a team of professionals with the goal of reaching an out-of-court settlement.  The team includes two attorneys, one for each party; a neutral coach/facilitator, who manages the process and the emotions that may arise during the process.  The team may also include neutral experts such as:

Litigation is necessary when Parties cannot reach an agreement on one or more of their legal problems.  The process is adversarial and involves negotiating a resolution with opposing counsel and/or submitting a specific legal issue(s) to a family court judge to make a decision.  Parties sometimes need to use this process under these and other circumstances:

I have litigated cases in various Massachusetts courts for over 16 years.  My experience has been primarily in providing trauma-informed legal representation in family law cases involving abuse, addiction and mental health challenges.  I understand that sometimes litigation cannot be avoided.  When it cannot be avoided I zealously advocate for my client.
