Family mediation is a confidential, voluntary, out-of-court dispute resolution method which allows clients to resolve their unique legal challenges with assistance from a trained neutral third-party, a mediator.

Mediation reduces the financial and emotional associated with litigation in court.

Clients will have space and time to formulate realistic and creative solutions to meet their family's needs.

The mediator provides information about family court processes and legal information so clients can make informed decisions on how best to separate.

Collaborative Family Law

Collaborative Family Law is designed to help parties resolve their legal problems out-of-court with the help of their attorneys and neutral experts in a non-adversarial matter.  The collaborative process helps reduce the emotional and financial stress caused by litigating your family law matter in Court.  In a collaborative case, you work with a team of professionals with the goal of reaching an out-of-court settlement.  The team includes two attorneys, one for each party; a neutral coach/facilitator, who manages the process and the emotions that may arise during the process.  The team may also include neutral experts such as:
  • Financial
  • Child Development
  • Other professional experts, as needed
I will represent your interests, taking into account the other party’s interests and the family as a whole.

Litigation is necessary when Parties cannot reach an agreement on one or more of their legal problems.  The process is adversarial and involves negotiating a resolution with opposing counsel and/or submitting a specific legal issue(s) to a family court judge to make a decision.  Parties sometimes need to use this process under these and other circumstances:
  • your legal problem presents a complex or unique legal question, on which knowledgeable attorneys disagree, so you must seek guidance from the Court;
  • when one or both Parties are focused on being found "right", rather than finding a solution that meets both Parties' needs;
  • one Party is not able to participate in alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation and collaborative family law;
  • an emergency arises, oftentimes concerning the safety of one of the Parties or the Parties' children.
If you are involved in family court litigation, it is important to have an attorney to help you navigate the process efficiently and effectively.
